PAST
Nature Frames…uses the language of performance to explore how we encounter nature. Conceived by Tom Borgas and Paul Gazzola, Nature Frames…aims to generate a multiplicity of readings, interpretations, connections and visibilities through a series of temporary performance-based interventions across the City of Adelaide.
Nature Frames…incorporates a kit comprising of a flat timber sheets, tools and other required materials able to be moved around on a 4wheeled trolley. Over 2days of the festival, a team of 2 – 4 people will make a series of journeys across the City of Adelaide. Using the sheets as the base material, this team will construct a series of situations that frame the nature that populates these locations including trees, weeds, the sky, grass and people. The actions aims to highlight that nature is not one thing but a multiple set of relationships and viewpoints. At these sites of activation, the team will also encourage interactions with the passing public, as well as asking for stories about their meaningful connections with nature. These stories will form the basis of an archive of responses that will be documented online post the festival.
