LEGACIES series

LEGACIES is an ambitious new body of work, that investigates notions of legacy, exchange and encounter through the lens of historical performance art practice. Drawing on seminal and also lesser known Australian and international works since the 60’s, the series aims to reveal how past performance practices continue to inform and shape the present, offering a platform to transmit experiential knowledge across time.

By reinterpreting historical works into new outcomes, LEGACIES explores the potency of durational, body-centred strategies while engaging with the politics of representation, Each outcome challenging static understandings of archives, memory, and history by presenting them as active, evolving forces through a dynamic convergence of past and present. The LEGACIES series positions performance art as a living, adaptive form—continually rewritten through action, context, and re-embodiment.
